Yannis Tsapos founded the company in 1991, and what began as a focused selection from Greece and the Mediterranean has grown, over three decades, into one of the most far-reaching portfolios in the region. Sixteen countries and four American states — the great cellars of the Old World in France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy; the ancient winemaking cradles of the Caucasus and the Black Sea in Georgia; the sun-soaked Eastern Mediterranean of Turkey, Lebanon, and Israel; the bold New World of South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and Argentina; and distinctive American wines from California, Oregon, New York, and Indiana. It's a range few importers can match — a boutique portfolio where every bottle is chosen by hand, all under one roof.

At the heart of it remains the Mediterranean and Europe, where Dionysos began. These are the wines the company was built on, and no part of our portfolio runs deeper. It's where we started, and it's still where we go deepest. Beyond wine, we import premium olive oils and the bottled waters that bring the table to life.

Across the DMV, restaurants and retailers count on us for more than the portfolio. We deliver reliably and on time, we work hands-on with our accounts — building wine lists, supporting menus, and educating staff — and our supplier relationships open the door to allocated and hard-to-find wines that rarely reach the open market.
