Origin
The Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits appellation is located in the northern part of the Burgundy wine region in France, just west of the famous Côte de Nuits vineyards. This area is known for its higher altitude vineyards which provide a cooler climate and unique terroir characteristics.
Variety
The wine is produced exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, the signature red grape variety of Burgundy.
Production
Anne Gros employs traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques with careful attention to detail. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel or oak vats. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, typically for 12 to 18 months, to develop complexity and structure while preserving the fresh fruit character.
Tasting notes
This Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge displays a bright ruby color with aromas of red cherries, raspberries, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine tannins, lively acidity, and flavors of red fruits complemented by hints of earthiness and spice. The finish is elegant and refreshing.
Food pairings
- Roasted poultry such as duck or chicken
- Grilled or braised pork dishes
- Mushroom risotto or dishes with earthy flavors
- Soft and medium cheeses like Brie or Camembert
- Charcuterie and light game meats
