Origin
Clos Vougeot is a Grand Cru vineyard located in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy, France. The wine is produced by the esteemed domaine Mugneret-Gibourg, known for its traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques.
Variety
The wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, the signature red grape variety of Burgundy.
Production
Mugneret-Gibourg employs traditional Burgundian winemaking methods including manual harvesting, careful sorting of grapes, and fermentation in open wooden vats. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, a portion of which are new, to develop complexity and structure. The aging period typically lasts around 18 to 24 months, allowing the wine to mature while preserving its varietal character.
