Origin
The Colares Chitas Ramisco RSVA is produced in the Colares wine region, located near the Atlantic coast in Portugal. This region is known for its unique sandy soils and traditional viticulture methods, which contribute to the distinctive character of the wines.
Variety
This wine is made exclusively from the Ramisco grape variety, an indigenous Portuguese red grape known for its thick skins and ability to produce wines with deep color, firm tannins, and excellent aging potential.
Production
The grapes are hand-harvested from old vines grown in sandy soils characteristic of the Colares region. Traditional winemaking techniques are employed, including fermentation in stainless steel or traditional lagares, followed by aging in oak barrels to develop complexity and structure. The wine is bottled without filtration to preserve its natural character.
