Origin
The Colares Chitas Ramisco Reserva is produced in the Colares region, located on the western coast of Portugal near Lisbon. This region is known for its unique sandy soils and Atlantic influence, which contribute to the distinctive character of its wines.
Variety
This wine is made exclusively from the Ramisco grape variety, an indigenous Portuguese red grape known for its thick skins and ability to produce age-worthy wines with firm tannins and deep color.
Production
The grapes are hand-harvested from old vines grown in sandy soils characteristic of the Colares appellation. The wine undergoes traditional fermentation and is aged in oak barrels to develop complexity and structure before bottling as a Reserva, indicating extended aging.
