Origin
The Jurançon Sec Pierre de Lune is produced in the Jurançon appellation, located in the South-West of France, within the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department. This region is known for its unique microclimate influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees mountains, which contributes to the distinctive character of its wines.
Variety
This dry white wine is primarily made from the Petit Manseng grape variety, which is indigenous to the Jurançon region. Petit Manseng is prized for its thick skins and ability to produce wines with intense aromatics and balanced acidity.
Production
The grapes are hand-harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and quality. After careful sorting, the juice undergoes controlled fermentation at low temperatures to preserve the fresh and aromatic profile of the Petit Manseng grape. The wine is aged briefly in stainless steel tanks to maintain its crispness and purity before bottling.
