Origin
Meursault Les Narvaux is produced in the Meursault appellation, located in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy, France. This area is renowned for its exceptional white wines made primarily from Chardonnay grapes.
Variety
The wine is made exclusively from 100% Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the Les Narvaux vineyard, known for its limestone-rich soils contributing to the wine’s minerality and complexity.
Production
Latour-Giraud employs traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques for this wine. The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, with a portion being new oak to enhance complexity. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged on fine lees for approximately 12 to 18 months, with regular bâtonnage to develop texture and richness.
Tasting notes
Meursault Les Narvaux displays a brilliant golden color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals aromas of ripe orchard fruits such as pear and apple, complemented by notes of toasted hazelnuts, honey, and subtle vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied with a creamy texture, balanced acidity, and a lingering mineral finish.
Food pairings
- Roasted poultry with creamy sauces
- Grilled or poached fish, especially salmon or sea bass
- Rich seafood dishes such as lobster or scallops
- Soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert
- Lightly seasoned risottos or mushroom dishes
