Refosco-Merlot 2015

The Refosco-Merlot blend by Gallici is produced in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy, an area renowned for its diverse terroirs and quality wine production.

• Refosco: A native red grape variety from Friuli, known for its deep color and robust tannins.
• Merlot: An internationally recognized grape variety contributing softness and roundness to the blend.

The wine is crafted through careful vinification combining the characteristics of both grape varieties. After harvesting, the grapes undergo fermentation at controlled temperatures to preserve aromatic complexity. The blend is then aged in stainless steel tanks and possibly in oak barrels to enhance structure and flavor integration before bottling.

This Refosco-Merlot blend exhibits a deep ruby red color with violet hues. On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, complemented by subtle hints of spices and soft oak. The palate is medium-bodied with balanced acidity and smooth tannins, offering a harmonious and persistent finish.
