Variety

- Touriga Nacional
- Touriga Franca
- Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo)
- Tinta Barroca
- Tinto Cão
Production
The Year Old Porto Tawny is produced by aging the wine in wooden casks for a minimum of the stated number of years, allowing gradual oxidation and evaporation which imparts the characteristic tawny color and complex flavors. The wine is fortified with grape spirit to halt fermentation, preserving natural sweetness and enhancing longevity.
Tasting notes
This Tawny Port exhibits a rich amber to tawny color with aromas of dried fruits such as figs and raisins, complemented by notes of nuts, caramel, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is smooth and velvety with balanced sweetness and a long, elegant finish.
Food pairings
- Perfect accompaniment to desserts featuring nuts, caramel, or dried fruits
- Pairs well with blue cheeses and aged hard cheeses
- Excellent served with chocolate-based desserts or pastries
- Can be enjoyed as a digestif on its own
