Origin
Produced in the Douro Valley, Portugal, a renowned region for Port wine production. Messias is a respected Port house with a long tradition in crafting quality fortified wines.
Variety
Colheita Port is made from a blend of traditional Douro grape varieties typically used in Port production, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and Tinto Cão.
Production
Colheita Port is a single-vintage tawny Port, aged in wooden casks for a minimum of seven years. The wine undergoes fortification by adding grape spirit to stop fermentation, preserving natural sugars and enhancing alcohol content. The extended aging in oak barrels allows for gradual oxidation and complex flavor development.
