LBV Porto Barros 2019

Produced in the Douro Valley, Portugal, a renowned region for Port wine production. Barros is a traditional Port house with a long history in the region.

LBV Port is typically made from a blend of traditional Portuguese grape varieties including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and Tinto Cão.

The grapes are harvested from the Douro vineyards and undergo traditional foot-treading or modern mechanical crushing. Fermentation is stopped early by the addition of grape spirit (aguardente), preserving natural sweetness and alcohol content. The wine is then aged in large oak vats for 4 to 6 years before bottling, allowing it to develop complexity while maintaining freshness.

• Appearance: Deep ruby red color with garnet hues.
• Aroma: Intense aromas of ripe dark fruits such as blackberries and plums, complemented by notes of spice, chocolate, and subtle oak.
• Palate: Full-bodied and rich with a smooth texture, balanced acidity, and flavors of dark berries, raisins, and hints of vanilla and spice.
• Finish: Long, warm, and lingering with a pleasant sweetness and subtle tannins.

• Pairs excellently with blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort.
