Origin
Meursault L'Ormeau is produced in the Meursault appellation, located in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy, France. This area is renowned for its exceptional white wines made primarily from Chardonnay grapes.
Variety
The wine is made exclusively from 100% Chardonnay grapes, which are carefully selected to express the terroir of Meursault.
Production
The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a gentle pressing process. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, with a portion being new oak to add complexity and structure. The wine is aged on its lees for an extended period to enhance richness and mouthfeel, with regular bâtonnage (lees stirring) to develop texture and aromatic depth.
Tasting notes
- Appearance: Pale golden yellow with brilliant clarity.
- Aroma: Intense and complex bouquet featuring notes of ripe orchard fruits such as apple and pear, complemented by hints of toasted almond, vanilla, and subtle floral nuances.
- Palate: Rich and full-bodied with a creamy texture, balanced acidity, and flavors of citrus, honey, and a mineral undertone typical of Meursault terroir.
- Finish: Long, elegant finish with lingering notes of toasted nuts and a slight buttery character.

- Roasted or grilled white meats such as chicken or veal
- Seafood dishes including lobster, scallops, and grilled fish
- Rich creamy sauces and dishes with mushrooms
- Soft and medium cheeses like Brie or Camembert
