Origin
Meursault Perrières 1er Cru is produced in the Meursault appellation, located in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy, France. The Perrières vineyard is one of the most prestigious Premier Cru sites in Meursault, known for its exceptional terroir characterized by limestone-rich soils that contribute to the wine’s minerality and finesse.
Variety
This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, the signature white grape variety of Burgundy, which expresses the terroir’s elegance and complexity.
Production
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted to ensure quality. The wine undergoes fermentation in French oak barrels, with a portion of new oak to enhance structure and complexity. Aging typically lasts 12 to 18 months, during which the wine develops its characteristic richness and subtle oak influence while preserving freshness and minerality. Malolactic fermentation is usually completed to soften acidity.
Tasting notes
- Appearance: Pale golden yellow with brilliant clarity.
- Aroma: Intense and complex bouquet featuring white flowers, citrus zest, ripe orchard fruits, and subtle hints of toasted almond and vanilla.
- Palate: Well-balanced with a creamy texture, vibrant acidity, and pronounced minerality. Flavors of lemon, green apple, and stone fruits are complemented by a delicate oak influence and a long, elegant finish.
Food pairings
