Origin
Puligny-Montrachet, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France. The vineyard Le Cailleret is a Premier Cru site known for producing high-quality Chardonnay grapes.
Variety
100% Chardonnay
Production
The grapes are hand-harvested from the Le Cailleret Premier Cru vineyard. Vinification is carried out with careful temperature control and often includes fermentation and aging in French oak barrels, some of which may be new, to enhance complexity and structure. Malolactic fermentation is typically employed to soften acidity and add richness.
Tasting notes
This wine displays a brilliant pale gold color. The nose reveals aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and subtle hints of toasted almond and vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it is elegant and well-balanced with vibrant acidity, flavors of ripe apple, pear, and a mineral undertone characteristic of the terroir. The finish is long and refined.
Food pairings
- Seafood dishes such as grilled scallops, lobster, or sole meunière
- White meats like roasted chicken or veal
- Soft cheeses including Brie or Camembert
- Light creamy sauces and dishes with subtle herbs
