Origin
Produced in the Richebourg Grand Cru vineyard located in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy, France. This prestigious vineyard is part of the Vosne-Romanée appellation, renowned for its exceptional terroir and historic significance in fine wine production.
Variety
100% Pinot Noir grape variety, cultivated under strict quality standards to express the unique characteristics of the Richebourg terroir.
Production
The wine is crafted by Anne Gros using traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo gentle destemming and fermentation in open wooden vats. Aging is conducted in French oak barrels, with a significant proportion of new oak, for approximately 18 to 20 months to develop complexity and structure. The process emphasizes minimal intervention to preserve the purity and expression of the vineyard.
Tasting notes
Richebourg by Anne Gros is characterized by a deep ruby color with garnet hues. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits such as cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant, complemented by floral notes of violet and subtle hints of spice, earth, and forest floor. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a velvety texture, fine tannins, and a long, persistent finish showcasing complexity and elegance.
Food pairings
- Roasted or grilled red meats such as beef or lamb
- Game dishes including venison and duck
- Mature hard cheeses like Comté or aged Gouda
- Rich mushroom-based dishes and truffle-infused preparations
