Origin
Produced in the Loire Valley, France, within the Vouvray appellation known for its exceptional Chenin Blanc wines.
Variety
The wine is made exclusively from Chenin Blanc grapes, a versatile and aromatic white grape variety native to the Loire Valley.
Production
Chidaine employs traditional winemaking techniques combined with modern precision. The grapes are hand-harvested from clay-rich soils (“Les Argiles”), gently pressed, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. The wine may undergo a period of aging on lees to enhance texture and complexity.
Tasting notes
Vouvray Les Argiles offers a bright and expressive profile with aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and subtle mineral notes reflecting its clay terroir. On the palate, it is crisp and lively with balanced acidity, hints of green apple, pear, and a delicate touch of honey. The finish is clean and refreshing, making it a versatile white wine.
Food pairings
- Seafood dishes such as oysters, scallops, and grilled fish
- Light poultry preparations and creamy chicken dishes
- Soft cheeses like goat cheese and Brie
- Asian cuisine with mild spice, including sushi and Thai salads
