This Tawny Port is typically made from a blend of traditional Portuguese grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and Tinto Cão.

The wine undergoes fermentation followed by fortification with grape spirit to halt fermentation and retain natural sweetness. It is then aged in wooden casks for an extended period, allowing oxidative aging that imparts the characteristic tawny color and complex flavors. The "YR" designation indicates a specific age or blend of aged tawny ports selected by Vallado.
